Campaign Update - Capitalist Free Market Britain?

Britain from my understanding is a capitalist liberal democracy, why would someone or a group of persons invest in acquiring the ex Camberwell Bingo Centre and willing to engage Camberwell community and the greater South London area to deliver a positive outcome for the greater need of the people of the community be met with oppositions from movement such as Camberwell Village Hall/Cinema bloggers and campaigners?

  2. It is true if the property belongs to me no person or group people can stop me from using it. Because we live in a free and fair society no person/ group should stop the church from using their property.

  3. In a democratic setting like ours in UK,On what bases do a group or individual has to detect what you could use your property acquired with your sweat for? Its weird and unacceptable.

  4. The comment above is good, Britain is free demmocracy and equal rights. i cannot understand the problem with the people kicking against the people tht bought the Bingo hall in Camberwell. if tthey seriously need it they should make an offer to the Buyer and if it is acceptable, then they should buy it.

  5. I believe that a man's home is his castle. We seem to be growing into a nation of groups that wish to dictate their will and impose it on others.

  7. It right, I feel that people should be able to acquire a building so long at it is for legitamate use. The building in camberwell, which was an ex-bingo hall now has an opportunity for community use that it did not have before. But clearly the use should be determined by new owners, and if the new owners are willing to open up the new building to the community this has surely got to be a good thing.

  9. I consider Britain to be indeed a democratic society, but the idea of a person or group wanting to block the acqiusation of a property for positive use when a simple polite request to the property owner could grant access is really disturbing and worrying. We should be careful not to turn Britain into a society unreasonable critic and antagonitic.

  10. The latin adage says "vox poulae vox Dei" which means the voice of the people is the voice of God.I think that the people should be able to acquire abuilding since it wil be used to help the human beings ,help the community, and the whole society,The use should be determined by the new owner.Give the new owner the chance to exercise the heavenly help in the community.
